Nakhon Nayok is one of the central provinces of Thailand. Found about 1 hour 30 minutes North of Bangkoks Suvarnabhumi international airport. If you are after a seaside resort this is not the place for you. But if you would like to see a place Thais visit, with plenty of places to stay as well as a lot to see & do. Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam
The Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam built in 2005. Standing at 93m high & 2720m long it’s the biggest Dam in Thailand, & biggest compacted concrete Dam in the world. You can take a bus trip or walk across the dam, looking down from the top you can really feel the height. May not be suitable for people with a fear of heights ?

Ayutthaya is located in the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District. Just over one hours drive from Bangkok. Depending where you start from in Bangkok & the traffic in Bangkok. Anyone who’s been to Bangkok will know what I mean.(check picture on the right, that’s not even rush hour in Bangkok) Travelling by train is much easier & very cheap, around 11 baht each way.

It was founded in 1350 & was the second Siamese capital after Sukhothai & originally Thailand’s capital city. Until it was destroyed by the Burmese in the 18th century.

wat Maha That is located in the Ayutthaya Historical Park. This is the place to see the Buddha’s head tree. But all around are some fantastic ruins. It can get rather busy around the tree. Making it not easy to take photo’s, but be patient & you will eventually get the picture you want.
