What is the Best Essential Oil For Toothache ?
People have been battling toothaches for as long as people have existed. Modern methods of correcting a toothache simply involve visiting a dentist, paying a large sum of money & calling it a day. However, the state of the US & UK economy & the expensive cost of dental work make it very difficult to just visit a dentist to correct the toothache. That’s why famous natural home toothache remedies are becoming more popular with people who can’t afford to visit the dentist or those who are scarred of visiting the dentist. While I do agree that every toothache must get serviced by a professional dentist I also agree that you can use natural toothache remedy to temporary relieve the pain & discomfort until you can afford a dentist. The remedy or what I like to call a secret weapon for a toothache is Clove Essential Oil.
Clove Essential Oil
Clove Oil is an essential oil that is obtained from the clove plant (syzgium aromaticum). Oil of clove has been used in dentistry as an antiseptic & analgesic because of it’s main ingredient Eugenol. The best part about clove oil is the fact you can buy it over the counter at your local pharmacy or health food store, & it’s relatively cheap. It’s important to remember that eugenol is a hepatotoxic & can cause damage to your liver if you overdose on it. When using any toothache remedy that uses clove oil it’s important to follow the instructions properly.
How to Use Clove Essential Oil
The best method for using Clove Oil as a toothache remedy is to place 2 to 3 drops on a cotton ball & place the cotton ball next to the tooth giving you the problems. You alternately could place some clove oil on a q-tip & rub it in on the tooth & the gum line. This may or may not resolve your pain & discomfort. If your infection & pain is due to a tooth abscess it will be very hard to get the clove oil to where the infection is located, also the main pain behind a tooth abscess is the pressure it creates with all the infected material that pools up in your gum.
Even if the Clove Essential Oil toothache remedy does end up removing your pain & discomfort it’s important to remember that you still need to visit the dentist. The problem isn’t going to disappear, you’ve just removed the pain, but the tooth decay & infection will still exist. Consider saving up the money for a dentist, or get a payment or dental insurance. If this remedy doesn’t work for you there are several other over the counter remedies available for you to try.
